Innovation through digital displays
To meet the evolving needs of the Deakin Library students, in 2013 they installed 5 high-resolution touch screens – known as The Verge at the Geelong Waterfront campus library. The technology was updated again in 2020. The video wall provides a progressive and dynamic way for students to engage with the Library. There are also single screens located at the three other campus libraries in Burwood, Waurn Ponds and Warrnambool.
My role has been to create meaningful and engaging content for the screens, working collaboratively with stakeholders both internal and external to the University (Digital Designers, Researchers, Library Collection specialists, Authors, Illustrators, Vendors, Students and Marketing and Communications specialists). These are a few of the displays I have been the lead designer and project lead on over the years.
